If you follow my blog you know I am a huge fan of Amy Schumer. She’s funny, smart, fearless and confident in her curves. This week she joked about Khloe K’s weight loss and it didn’t go over well. For me, the biggest misconception of the Curvy revolution is that it means we bash the standard sized/”skinny” girls but it in fact stands for being respected in our culture and not excluded .
Comedy is subjective and can be edgy and sometimes out of order but we need to keep things in perspective. Khloe addressed the issue with grace and all seems to be well now, but it’s an example of women needing to be conscious of what they’re saying even Amy.
Whatever our culture may deem as the ideal body type doesn’t really matter in the end. Your ideal body is the one that is healthy, strong and happy. It’s hard to get fit and maintain it, so I give a lot of credit to Khloe for working hard and reaching her goals. Let’s just give each other some love can we not?
