My friend graced me with Emmy tickets very early Saturday morning, I honestly thought she was joking! It was an unforgettable night and I am still stunned that I had the chance to attend. Historically diverse, the 2015 Emmy Wards ceremony was also an opportunity to see bodies from standard to curvy strike a pose on the carpet and on stage. This is how the red carpet should be rocked always – “every body” represented.
The show was a lot of fun and it was very cool to see so many curvy ladies looking glamorous and confident in the audience. So many different looks from shimmery sophisticated caftans, jewel toned cocktail dresses, intricately beaded sheaths and lots and lots of luxe organza.
Most life changing for me was being there to experience the wins of Regina King, Uzo Aduba and Viola Davis whose speech left me covered in tears – an inspirational moment I cannot even describe. I left the event feeling giddy and hopeful which was very well appreciated.
